My very good friend Rosalie has taken a 12 month contract to teach at a school in a remote Aboriginal community. We had a farewell send-off last week, and this is the card I made for her:
We all pitched in a bought Rosalie a Kindle, given she is an avid reader and lots of books may be hard to find where she’s going.
The card base is a square kraft card, 140x280mm (folded) by Fundamentals (I received this as a free pack with a magazine subscription. They are just the perfect size!). The Summer Sandie paper was matted onto Olive card, leaving a small border. Ribbon was wrapped around the right hand side and tied in a knot as shown. I die-cut the Cyan Jade paper with a Leafy Flourish die and my Exy-Press machine and adhered it with mounting tape, hiding the end under the ribbon.
The sentiment was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto white card and matted onto Olive card. Brads were added to the outer edges and then mounted with mounting tape. A red and white rose and marigold flowers were adhered with Glue Dots. The ends of the flowers (metal stems) were snipped off and made into the spirals. To do this, wrap the stem around a pencil or something cylindrical (but small in size) and slide off the end.
(Sorry about the shadow of my finger in the photo…)
